Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure which removes excess tissues such as skin & fat. This procedure can also be functional if the surrounding muscles and tendons are re-inforced. Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure and is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia.
Indication:
It is an elective to improve puffy lower eyelid, wrinkled skin, and in creating a crease (supratarsal fold) in single-lidded patient.It helps in correction of protruded skin, which creates problem with peripheral vision.
Recovery:
It may take few weeks. The surgery may leave the patient with scars, swelling, bruises, which is normal and will disappear in few weeks.Patient should avoid strenous activity, alcohol consumption at least for three weeks.
