Even a pelvic examination coupled with an ultrasound examination, a blood test for cancer-related markers, and a biopsy, usually done by a gynecologic oncologist, can be helpful.

Treatment of Ovarian Cancer

Likewise, the treatment will also depend on the size and location of the tumour. During the first stage, surgery is the mainstay of the treatment.

In the second and third stage, the addition of chemotherapy to surgery will be recommended reducing the chances of disease relapse.
In the advanced fourth stage, one can be given palliative care with chemotherapy in addition to newer targeted therapies to control and manage the disease.
